Privacy policy

Your invoices stay on your device. This policy explains the small amount of information used to run, license, support, and improve InvoiceFiler.

Effective August 23, 2026
The short version

Invoice files, extracted text, filenames, vendors, dates, and invoice numbers are processed locally and are not sent to InvoiceFiler, analytics, or payment services.

1. Who this policy covers

This policy applies when you visit InvoiceFiler’s website, use the browser application, activate a Pro license, or contact support. “InvoiceFiler,” “we,” and “us” refer to the InvoiceFiler service.

2. Your invoice data stays local

InvoiceFiler processes PDFs inside your browser. We do not receive or store your PDF files, extracted text, original or proposed filenames, vendor names, invoice dates, invoice numbers, naming profiles, ZIP exports, or CSV audit files.

Your browser may keep preferences, naming profiles, and license-session information on your device. You can remove that local information by clearing the site’s browser storage.

3. Information used to operate the service

Website and hosting

Our hosting provider, Vercel, processes standard request information needed to deliver and secure the website. This can include an IP address, browser details, timestamps, requested paths, and diagnostic logs. A checkout return may briefly include a license parameter in the request URL; InvoiceFiler removes it from the address bar before analytics starts.

Licensing

When you activate, validate, or release Pro, the license key, an app-generated device identifier, and license-instance information are processed by our licensing endpoint and Lemon Squeezy’s License API. We use this only to confirm access and enforce the supported device limit. InvoiceFiler does not maintain a customer or document database.

Support

If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever information you choose to include. If you use our support form, Web3Forms processes your name, email address, selected topic, message, IP address, and technical request information so the message can be delivered and protected from spam. Please do not include confidential invoices, invoice details, payment card information, or license keys.

4. Privacy-safe analytics

We use Umami Cloud to understand whether the product is useful. Umami uses no analytics cookies or cross-site tracking. It records anonymous page and session information such as page path, referrer, browser, operating system, device type, general country, and product events.

Our custom events use fixed labels and coarse categories, such as first upload, successful processing, checkout click, purchase activation, export format, plan, and batch-size range. We do not send document content, filenames, invoice fields, license keys, device identifiers, email addresses, payment amounts, query strings, or URL fragments. We do not use session replay.

5. Payments and purchases

Checkout is provided by Lemon Squeezy, our merchant of record. Lemon Squeezy collects and processes payment, billing, tax, fraud-prevention, and order information under its own privacy policy. InvoiceFiler does not receive or store your full card details.

6. Service providers and international processing

We use Vercel for website hosting, Umami Cloud for anonymous analytics, Lemon Squeezy for checkout and license verification, and Web3Forms for support-form delivery. These providers may process information in countries different from yours and apply their own security, retention, and legal-compliance practices.

7. Retention and security

InvoiceFiler keeps no server-side copy of your invoice data. Support messages are retained only as long as reasonably needed to respond, keep appropriate business records, and meet legal obligations. Web3Forms states that form submissions may be retained for up to three years unless a shorter period applies or they are deleted earlier. Analytics and infrastructure information follow the retention controls of our provider accounts.

We use access controls, HTTPS, a restrictive Content Security Policy, and data minimization to protect the service. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.

8. Your choices and rights

You can use the core application without creating an InvoiceFiler account. You can block analytics with compatible browser tools, clear locally stored app information through your browser, and contact us to request access, correction, or deletion of personal information we control. Some records may need to be retained where required by law.

9. Children and policy changes

InvoiceFiler is a business productivity tool and is not directed to children under 13. We may update this policy when the product, providers, or legal requirements change. The effective date at the top will show the latest revision.
