# InvoiceFiler

> InvoiceFiler is a private, browser-based utility that reads text-based invoice PDFs, proposes consistent filenames, and lets people review and download renamed copies without uploading invoice content.

Important product boundaries:

- PDF bytes, extracted text, vendor names, invoice dates, invoice numbers, and proposed filenames stay in the user's browser.
- InvoiceFiler supports text-based invoice PDFs in current desktop versions of Chrome and Edge. Scanned, image-only, encrypted, and malformed PDFs are not supported.
- The source PDFs are never overwritten, moved, or deleted. InvoiceFiler creates new renamed copies after review.
- The free workflow supports up to five PDFs without an account. Pro adds larger batches, custom filename patterns, saved profiles, ZIP export, and a CSV audit trail.
- InvoiceFiler is a file-renaming utility, not accounting, bookkeeping, reconciliation, approval, or OCR software.
